Finally a good video on quitting alcohol. I'm trying to taper and it is not easy. Blood pressure goes up when my body expects the usual nightly alcohol dosage. It comes down after 4-5 shots.

I've done cold turkey from heroin a few times, it's absolutely horrific. Far, far, far worse than you can imagine. I did it once from a £100 a day habit and it lasted 12 days. All that time I didn't sleep, didn't eat a thing, and was just vomiting, shitting, convulsing, jerking, sweating hot and cold, aggressive stomach cramps. It's awful. And nothing worked to ease it, not even diazepam to sleep. It just bounced off and didn't work.

Hey.....A lapse need not be a relapse. Get back on the sober bus. Don't pickup the first substance. One Day At a Time. Maybe think about staying and being accountable. 🙏I wish you the best in your recovery.

I was addicted to dextropropoxyphene in 2013 and as it was banned shifted to Tramadol man i cant quit Even if you able to get out of physical withdrawal mental withdrawal is hard and its the reason i relapse again

How long does it take until liver failure finally shows up on blood tests, I’ve been having symptoms since last September I.e dark urine, pale stool, pain in right side and everytime I go gp they only offer a blood test. I just want to be diagnosed at this point

I got some off a friend, 50 mg, to help with depression and sleep. Had a couple and seemed to relax me but scared of getting addicted

Thank you for your honesty ! Yes coming back where these things are available would have caught you off guard ! I wonder about the 'self sabotage' aspect we all face as part of our struggles. It strikes me many people don't really feel they 'deserve' to be Happy and sober deep down. Its that self sabotage voice inside our heads that fires up to ruin things. There's no rehabs or funding in north yorkshire... im trying to reduce myself but it's so hard to reduce as much as just stopping ... all my senses come back everything sounds so loud, the adgitaion is unreal and panick attacks... I wish the doctors would help or give me something to calm me down but they don't...plus it takes ages to get through now its all changed.... but I'm not giving in im just frightened this time , ive just turned 41 im drinking 35 cans a day ..im really greatful for your videos thankyou and sorry for being negative....but im going to fight

I can't do it yet. Been 30 years or more. I've managed to kick nicotine, and all pharmacy stuff but the beers. Just so bad with the withdrawal. Always crack.

I was up to 30 pills a day. 5 in the morning right when I woke up. 5 about 1 pm 5 more about 4 pm 5 more about 8 ish then 5 before i went to bed. I've had 3 seizures and my last seizure I was driving I almost went head on with traffic and some how God took the wheel and steered me off the road into the ditch almost driving along this fence till my car just stopped. I quit taking them pills that day and it's been about 5 years now since I've touched a tramadol. 🙏🏼❤️🤞🏼Prayers for those who are still on them.

Alcohol has caused so much illness and death in my family. It’s remarkable how much my colleagues and I overused it in grad school because we were utterly ignorant. We had been fed the lies that red wine is healthy, and that certain liquors are lower sugar and, therefore, healthier. We didn’t realize how toxic the ethanol itself is. Pure poison.

They sell those pills OTC?! that’s crazy… here in the US they will barely give you pain pills even if your leg is falling off.

In the US, they say it’s a “milder opioid,” but don’t say a word about the SNRI part of it. They act like it’s just an opioid and nothing else. If it was, it’d be easier to get off of. SNRI’s are notoriously difficult to get off of, just read about the trouble people are having with cymbalta. Tramadol is like a designer drug. Mix some crap together and see how much the customers like it, and come back for more, all while big pharma suits rake in the profits. Tip for everyone, don’t let them put you on clonidine to help you get off tramadol. It’s not very effective and is very habit forming with hypertensive crisis, stroke, and unaliveness as withdrawal symptoms.
